New officers were installed at the 2018 Christmas Luncheon by Senator Linda Evans-Parlette.
A presentation on charter schools was made by the North Central Educational Service District at the January 7th meeting.

On March 4 at our monthly luncheon presentation was made by the co-founders and a board member of the proposed charter school called Pinnacles Prep which is planning to open in the Fall of 2021. Sara Rolfs, Karla Mullins and Rick Wray spoke and answered questions.
At our February 4, 2019 meeting, Jeff Ackerman from the Wenatchee World spoke on bias in the media. Hailey, a student, gave a memorized speech of “Rallying the Troops” by George Washington.
Our guest speaker for the April 1 luncheon was Connie Bean. She spoke about a program she calls "Talk to me!" "Shall we have a dialogue?" She is joined by our Ellie and Jama.
Auditors Skip Moore and Thad Duvall answered questions about new voter laws in a forum on May 15.

Gary Ivory, General Manager of the Douglas County PUD, spoke with our members at our July meeting about the future of hydrogen. We learned about capturing hydrogen, fuel cells, steam reformation and more. It was a very interesting topic. Hopefully Mr. Ivory will return one day with an update on this fascinating technology.
The 2019 CDRW fundraiser was held at the Martin Scott Winery on July 11. It was a successful and fun evening filled with great food, auction items and music.
